I'll Never Get There

I know it's important that I'm there and I thought I knew the way. Everything is familiar and I'm on time. It's difficult to cross the road, but eventually I do and suddenly there's the building I need in front of me: I think. For some reason I mustn't go through the front door so I go round to the side and see a kitchen with the stairs up the side which I take onto the first floor. If I turn right and the room I need should be there. But it's not. Best to go along the landing and turn right at the end, I think, but this leads to a dead end wall. Turn around to go back. And the alarm goes off.

I'm surprised how much of this dream I can remember from the other night. But it's typical of a whole host of dreams I've had where I'm on my way to somewhere very important and in differing ways I'm frustrated and I never get there. I can see the pattern, but I have no idea what my brain is trying to tell me or what I'm burying. I don't expect anyone to interpret my weird dream but I was prompted by someone else on here sharing theirs.

Dreams where you are trying to achieve something but can't are quite common. Probably a reflection of something going on in your life.

@Matt85 I've tried to work out what that might be. Sometimes they've been about missing exams I took 50+ years ago 🤷‍♂. Those are a relief to wake from.

@FreddieUK Lol. I constantly dream about taking exams. For real. I have wondered if it's because life is a test. I'm often late or I've answered in my own improvised way which strays somewhat from the curriculum.

@Matt85 it's ironic that I should be worried about exams. I will never take having to spend a lot of my life teaching kids to pass theirs - I hope a lot more kindly than I was. 🙂
