Dream last night

It started out as a nightmare. I was invited over to a neighbor's house. I went and he had invited other people too. We found out he wanted to use us in this magic ritual, so we freaked out because we thought we were going to be sacrificed. We spent a lot of time trying to escape his house. But I would wake up when we escaped, fall back asleep and when I was asleep we'd be back in his house again and have to escape again 😕

Finally instead of just trying to get away I decided to ask the old man neighbor about this ritual. I learned that embarrassingly I had only falsely assumed we would be sacrificed and we had been running away for nothing. He just needed specific people to do specific things and then it was supposed to open a magic portal with some mysterious treasure inside.

Once I learned that we weren't actually going to be sacrificed we totally changed tactics and started helping our neighbor. We did everything we were supposed to and were so excited to see the results-but nothing happened. It was highly disappointing. The neighbor assumed he had gotten something wrong with the ritual and said he'd have to go back to the drawing board. I remember I felt pretty bummed out. Then I woke up and the dream actually ended.
