My brother and I had been talking about the mass deportations…

He said he’d had a nightmare where he’d received a deportation notice (our family has been in the U.S. for centuries). He said it offered him the choice of being deported to Lagos or Port-au-Prince. 😳

An understandable sort of nightmare, seems to me. Just today, I listened to a nightmare come true account about a man who'd done everything required to comply with his legal refugee status...but was detained, imprisoned, and somehow 'disappeared', still.

@Captain And part of what they’re doing is trying to stop people from voting.

One of the Executive Orders seeks to require that one’s voter registration must be in the same name (first and last) as one’s birth certificate.

What our president either forgot—or didn’t is the number of women whose last names changed when they got married.

It begs the question whether or not he’s deliberately trying to lessen the number of women who can legally vote—or he just put his foot in it again. 🤨

@bijouxbroussard Oh I didnt spot that one. And to think women voted for a huy who was going to take away their rite to vote and their rite to safe abortion. Can you see why Europeans are beginning to feel alien to their American cousins.
