Last night I dreamed I was in my grandmother's garden and there was a thick tree which was half buried underneath the ground so we only saw its two main branches and thought they were two separate trees. Then it started to burn and only then I saw it was in fact one huge tree and it was burning very deep inside so we didn't know how to extinguish it.

A night before I had a beautiful vivid dream about a trip somewhere in Southeast Asia. I've never been in Asia so it's all just a fantasy but it was so different and nice. The place is still pretty much burnt into my "retina". I was alone and just arrived to another island city than the one at which I was staying. I had to pass the entrance from the port together with groups of other tourists but I strayed off to places where almost nobody went to. I found a narrow strip of land that looked a bit like embankment and walked along it without anyone nearby. When I walked back I passed by a group of locals who looked at me a bit disapprovingly like on a foolish person, in a sense that it's dangerous to ramble like this alone in a country that you don't know. I even asked them if it's safe to walk around like this and they said no but also that it's not really their responsibility. Then I joined other tourists and entered some tourist attraction area with footbridges, museums, gardens etc. Again I strayed off to some building where nobody was around and I felt I came to the part that wasn't intended for tourists to enter. There were huge corridors with huge windows and a lot of sun inside. Finally I decided to leave the port area and explore the city, even if it already felt late and I wasn't sure if I manage to catch a ship back to my island. I still decided to go to the city. Somehow I befriended a group of young girls around 22 or so, probably college students and they took me to their place. They weren't locals, they either studied or worked on the island. For some odd reason they had an ice-rink in one of their rooms and asked me if I wanted to try skating. Honestly, they looked a bit as if either one of them was a daughter of some rich man and this was his place or they had a sugar daddy. 🙈
However, then they took me into their room and it had identical furniture to my grandmother's furniture. And I was totally taken aback. I didn't understand how had that type of furniture gotten there and thought to myself, "oh maybe they're really are just students who were lucky enough to get a room with shared spaces with some richies". Then I looked out of the window and saw soviet apartment blocks and only then I understood how far into the city we had to go since we clearly were out of the tourist places and that neighbourhood looked so plain, ordinary, working class.
