What challenging life experiences have made you stronger?

Diagnosed with cancer while my partner was diagnosed 3 weeks later having to attend her funeral 1 week before my surgery

Being disowned, disinherited and divorced over a 2-3 year period wasn’t easy. But, you can fold or grow.

I’m a much happier person now as a result. I’m stronger mentally and physically and have learned the ability to love every day.

Living for 3 1/2 years with no income.

I don't know about stronger. The bulk of my challenging life experiences have ground me down, grinding away at the core of who I used to be and how I always saw myself. They've just removed the layer of shell that allowed me to maintain my defense against the world and have a place to hide that was just my space, leaving me open to the debilitations of the environment.

Difficult relationships, the worst of which was with a coworker. Yes, I knew better, but I thought we were both mature enough to handle it. When things went south, and I was essentially ghosted, I still had to see him every damn day, while he carried on as if I did not exist.

It was one of the most painful years of my life.

Just surviving.

Lol…… sometimes that seems like the fashionable thing to say about challenging life experiences. Rather than face how truly horrible they are. Grief and illness have hardly made me feel stronger. More like a vulnerable, open wound.

Several. I'm not so sure I buy in to the auto 'makes you stronger.' I tend to think it humbles us more.

Responsibilities

Being the only one in this abode that's not stricken and debilitated by life's circumstances, for a few days here and there it's like that, and i must say i'm handling it ok so far, but the future is where the test comes, the real test.

I quit sleeping.
