wow...is a handshake really that big of a deal?

I shook hands with a new coworker and it felt like he was trying to crush my hand. Then he responded with "whoah!!! lets try that handshake again" I guess he wanted me to squeeze back harder because when i did the second time he was like "that's better". When I shake hands i like to grasp but not really squeeze other peoples hands. I suppose that makes me "weak" right? haha..how judgemental. Oh well...I'm just gonna have to show them how bad@$$ my cashiering skills are. Then we'll see how much that handshake really mattered.

Maybe it's judgmental. But in our over sensitive culture... what isn't judgmental?

I have to admit, if you shake my hand like a wet noodle I do see that as weak. Even in women. I'm not going to assume your weak. But I'd probably look for other signs of it.

An for the record studies have found people who have weak handshakes are often timid.
