Then men should have an automatic expectation for woman to demonstrate a 'show him that you know him' approach in return because otherwise it's not mutually beneficial or fair and is very one-sided and disrespectful.

I often feel like that society believes that double standards are ok in relationships as long as it benefits the woman. Looking at a lot of the advise I received when I first got married support this. In particular was "You can be right, or you can be married". or "Happy wife, Happy life". The first one implies that you can't reason with a woman and you need to support their delusions. There are so many things wrong with the implication of the second one that I could probably write a thesis on it.

@djjohnson I've never been married but in my two relationships it was definitely one way exchange of most things. Esp intimacy as it was not really mutual but all for her. The 'the woman is the table ' et Al.
