What's the threshold between a legal and an illegal fart on a commercial flight?

Is there a limit? Or is on a fart by fart basis? What if everybody farts just a little, at the same time, but they're ball different smells and intensities? Does everyone take part the blame equally in the event of an emergency landing?

I don’t know but heard a British woman harshly and loudly lecturing someone on a British Airways flight about how rude he was to let one slip. The entire plane was made aware of it and even the ones who weren’t close enough to smell it. 😂
