If you want your kids to succeed in life, take care of the conditions surrounding them

And stop living in lala land. People who grow up in extreme circumstances and then succeed are rare. Your job as a parent is to make sure their circumstances aren't extreme, not to justify and compare.

I had a patient today who suffers from depression. She lost her teeth. She told me her parents verbally abuse her for not getting a job..SHE DOESN'T HAVE TEETH.

Any sane person would know appearances matter. Getting her dental care she needs rn is more important than pushing her to the world to be mocked and treated like shit.

I don't even know why people keep birthing kids to this world if they can't take care of them properly..18 years old is still a kid. If you think otherwise, go eat shit and stfu.

As a parent it's important to take care of the fundamentals for your child's wellbeing, stuff like love, empathy, a place to live, food and water, clothes, education among others.

To build a strong character isn't to break them down, it just creates anger. They need to be build up in order to build their own opinions and to trust themselves in those, being able to argue them better and better as they grow up. They need to be encouraged and confident enough to question things they sense might not be right.

We educate them to become responsible adults with time, but at any time they stay our children.

@SUPERVlXEN You need far more than the fundamentals if you want your children to succeed and you are comparing them to successful people.

The path is too underestimated. People see the end result and think they can just do the same through hard work. Nonsense.

The fundamentals are nothing more than exactly fundamentals. Without all the rest they won't be prepared to evolve into an independant person. One important thing in my eyes is not to always compare them to others but look at them as an individual with their own wishes and hopes for life that won't necessary be the one we'd have chosen for ourselves. At times they need support and help navigating and hopefully we can create a safe place where they're not afraid to come to seek for this. Success is subjective and varies from person to person which doesn't mean they're not successful each on their own terms. Education isn't just academic but as much how to navigate in life and how to trust in oneself.

Not abusing your children isn't "babying them". Your disagreement are towards points you made in your own mind and assigned them to my thread.

You can raise kids with dignity without babying them. Makes no sense to make that association.

It’s shocking the amount of kids growing up with mental health issues now. The numbers are growing every year.

Do you have kids?
Miram · 31-35, F
@Infamous607

Yes, I have mentioned this hundreds of times here. I have an amazing family. They aren't mine biologically but they will always be mine in every other way.

Mothering is both a blessing and a great responsibility.

But you don't need to be a mother or have kids to be responsible for them. Life is larger than that.

@Miram I get it.

Civilization will be slowly learning that you cannot have a world that revolves around only money at the expense of human flourishing and future generations.

By the time they figure it out, it's too late beyond divine intervention.
