What if we built skyscrapers upside down extending into the ground?

Reality is people need natural light. Lots of studies show its essential. For example, if a room's light is less than 60% natural it tends to diminish one's mood. This is why a lot office environments suck, and why we like to sit near a window whenever we can. Digging down ain't gonna help.

Sounds like the beginning of that underground mole society I've been dreaming about
while there would be some interesting benefits to it, I think the cost to go down instead of up would be too high.
