you could try and find a topper 3 or 4 inches at least maybe secondhand if you dont have money for a new one. that might make the bed more comfortable. or perhaps an air bed? or put the topper on the floor if the mattress is still uncomfortable with it.

A pile of mattresses, or warm carpet plus airbed. I don't really know much about winters because we're in a tropical country. But they do have heated floors in other areas.

If you use a topper, it will still dip. If there is actually a mattress that can be lifted up, then you can place a length of 1/2" plywood underneath and the bump will ALMOST disappear. THEN add the topper.
Can you put something on the frame, under the mattress to help support the mattress better .. i.e. plywood, heavy carboard from say an appliance box, etc ??

For the couch, if it feels like you are going to roll off of it, maybe prop up the front legs a bit.

You could try putting some 2x boards "on the flat" under the mattress

Maybe check FB marketplace or craigslist?

@NinaTina same, but I've heard it's still going strong in some cities.

A board under the mattress?

Have you tried flipping it?
