how do you handle que's in supermarkets

there's been a few occasions in recent times where ive been stood in a supermaket que in my local supermarket and someone i don't like the look of comes up to que behind me...plus they behave in a very rude manner by queing right up close to me and invading my personal space? and i'm getting all tense and uptight in the checkout que, visibly unnerved because i have ptsd related anxiety.

what do you do in those situations.

Well, you have a choice. You can say something, and explain that you have PTSD, and ask them if they can back away a little bit...all very politely...or you can get out of the queue, grab a second grocery cart, and then get back in queue with one cart before you and one behind you, thus protecting your personal space.

@4meAndyou some options there, i just find the whole business of shopping very stressful, i don't like it, thankyou for answering.

@durinsBane1983 Thank you for best comment!

One possibility…always use a cart, and don’t push it when you get close to the checkout, step in first and pull the cart after you. You’ll have a defensive barrier.

TBH, I like strangers queing right up close to me, even invading my personal space. Sort of erotic I find....
