what happens to all the wonderful books when library's are closed

[c=7700B2]here in the uk, you often hear now of libraries shutting down, a really sad thing, but all the sacred books in the libraries? what happens to them? because many of them are irreplaceable, it would be a travesty if they destroyed the books.[/c]

The only reason libraries aren't promoted or encouraged is because the Corporate World can't make money off of them. They'll burn those books and then sell them back to people via an online "subscription."

@calicuz our own government doesn't promote libraries

No, they don't, because they can't make money off of libraries either.

@calicuz subscription - like how you can "buy" the book for a certain amount of time?

@CestManan

Yeah, or have it in your "library" on the website, for a monthly fee.

@calicuz let's just get away from the digital age and I'll go back to having books on our shelves at home
