how should you deal with people who say or insinuate demeaning things

one of my favourite colours i like to wear is red and once i had someone insinuate that i not only didn't didn't suit red, but i resembled mickey mouse wearing red...and i felt furious and nearly went berserk on the person...but at the last minute exercised self restraint and walked away.

how should you deal with people like that who are demeaning and just not nice?

@durinsBane1983 🤔i think the way you handled it was the right call to walk away to somebody trying too be a clever bastard if you had hit him it could of made things a whole lot worse
