What would you do in this situation?

Unfortunately, today my son got stung by some wasps while he was playing outside

He fell asleep shortly after. I called out (i never call out i called out twice in an entire year)
The reason i called out was bc my baby sitter doesnt have a car. So if something were to happen its hard for her to reach me when im working and she thought it would be in our better interest for me to call out

I called out four hours in advance to give them plenty of time and my boss says to me otp "well thats five hours from now. you need to come to work." And hung up and basically denied my call out request

Is that even legal? I dont think my baby sitter is even going to take him due to the circumstances and my sons grandparents are freaking tf out telling me to go to the hospital

Did you give him any Benadryl for the venom in the ber sting? That is the correct procedure.

Your boss knows that 911 operators and paramedics and ambulance drivers and emergency room nurses, know how to do their jobs very well.

He expects the same of you.

This is not a slam but, I am just looking at it from a boss perspective.

Trust that your babysitter would call you right after she called 911 for son, IF your son's health became compromised.

Also trust in the people whom we all want to be at their best, should our day take a turn for the worst.

Much love and appreciation to ALL of our first responders and rescue workers and support staff for doing an amazing job under some of the toughest conditions. 💜

Most states are at will, so it's probably legal, but it's also pretty dick. Time to start looking for work elsewhere.

sounds like your “boss” doesn’t have a backup plan.

Fuck that job! They don’t value you.

I've been through that when I was a kid. I accidentally stepped on it while playing in the in the parking lot and stung my foot.....boy oh boy it hurts. My mom had to use Baking Soda or something
Nitedoc · 51-55, M
@FreestyleArt Yes. Mix baking soda and water to form a thick paste. It won't take much. Dab it liberally on the sting location.

It's your right. There's a serious reason too. Explain when you will get the chance and please try to remain calm. He doesn't sound appreciative and that's not a good sign.
Your son is your priority right now ❤️
I hope your son is ok.

Your boss is a dick.

I'd take him to the hospital and show your boss the paperwork.

Your boss is a dick.
Im sorry. How did this end up playing out? I hope he's doing better.

Go to the hospital your boss can fill in for you.

Wrap a thin cloth around an ice or cold pack. Apply this pack to the sting site for 30 to 60 minutes, in intervals of 10 minutes on and off. This will help reduce the swelling and pain of the wasp sting. To reduce the swelling, take an anti-inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen
