So people say be thankful, grateful for what you've lived and the situation

But sometimes you just can't be thankful. Yeah it taught you something but you can't just be happy for the way it was.
Nope.
One of those quotes that are just too general and absurd.
Yeah the lesson is awesome but the experience not.

That's very true, but maybe we can be thankful that we survived the situation, and the situation didn't end it all?
