I have a situation for you, how do you feel about this?

You lay out a bunch of candy for your kid and tell them they can eat any of it that they want, except for one particular piece of candy. You tell them that no matter what, they cannot eat this candy. You tell them it'll make them sick and eventually kill them. At the same time you also know that someone is going to convince them to eat the candy. You know that this bad person is gonna trick your kid into eating it by lying to them n telling them that the candy is ok to eat, it's very tasty and that it'll make them as strong as their parents if they eat it. So your kid eats it, and when you find out that they ate it you punish them severely for disobeying you. Does this story sound kinda familiar?

You punish them by casting them out of your house into the streets where it’s cold and hostile. It doesn’t help that the bad candy is making them ill. But instead of just leaving them to die of cold hunger and poison from the candy that they ate, you inject yourself with the same poison that was in the candy thus making yourself ill. This is extremely painful for you. It produces antibodies in your blood that, when taken, can save your children’s Lives. You offer this life giving blood for free. You also offer them a place in your home if they are truly sorry for disobeying you and promise never to do it again.

@BBrendan I like how your analogy and extension of my story (Adam and Eve) is like the story of Christ. Even though you cast them into the dark you also take in some of the poison yourself (the crucifixion) and offer your blood with antibodies to save them (believing in Christ's death and resurrection brings eternal life in heaven). I'm guessing that's where you were going with your story

Yeah I think it does sound familiar.
