Does peoples comprehension of things get better as they get older ?

I realized that even a few months ago there were things i couldnt understand or comprehend, like movie plots or certain situations but fast foward a few months or years and I understand it better, does that have something to do with out brains developing more as we get older ?

The more we experience, the more we understand and the more insight we have into situations. Hopefully. Otherwise people are just dumbasses however old they become 😆😉
