What's the most expensive car repair that you have ever needed?
Years ago, I had an old Ford Escort which had a misfire due to a broken valve spring. Total cost of the repair if I remember, was somewhere between $400-$450.

I have an old Escort now actually. Its pretty pristine for the most part, but I think I'm going to have an issue with a valve spring or valve seat soon.
Did yours still run when the spring broke? I'm sure it shook like crazy while it was idling, but that too seems to be common with them

@NickyLee Yeah it still ran but it had a misfire, ticking, and no power whatsoever. A few years after I got that fixed, a valve dropped into the engine on another cylinder, and that was it. She was done. And yeah, 90s Escorts were known for suddenly dropping their valves with one of the engines.
