The thing is, it's not always so easy to know how to appropriately respond in every social situation.

Coming out of class, some guy smiled and said something like what's up, and I just looked down and kept walking and I heard the guy call out, "'F' you, bitch."

Oh yeah life is fun like that....run into all kinds of people. Life is just life.... You can respond however you like or no response is fine too. There is no right or wrong answer.. everyone is just living and doing what they're doing.
