Can antidepressants cause paranoia?

Someone I know just started taking them and suddenly thinks they are being watched and everyone is out to get them 😟

I’m no expert but having been on them I can say they can have some side effects. It’s possible they could have taken them and this is causing those thoughts. Then again I feel like that no matter what.

@Captainjackass she was a little paranoid before because of things she went through recently, but it got really bad. Like she made me leave my phone in the car and I had to show her that noone is accessing her wifi

@Nebula well even if you don’t they should still know cause who knows what the side effects of what she’s on could be. And paranoia begins slowly over time and builds up like a lot of mental health problems.
