Why do Trump supporters continue to downplay and deny the severity of COVID-19?

They’re taking their cue from him. He’s only marginally taking it seriously, and re-election is more important to him than lives, ultimately. I guess he’s assuming the people dying are not his base.

@bijouxbroussard I heard that someone in Trump's base is infected with the virus and now there is concern for Trump himself 🤔.

@SubstantialKick I wonder if Trump would be honest if he were infected, unless he actually got sick and couldn’t hide it. He’s come close before, he was still shaking hands with people even after being asked not to.

I suspect if he and /or Pence test positive there will be a coverup, and if they get real sick and or die the GOP Senate will cover it up as long as they can, watch for military surrounding the White House.@bijouxbroussard
