If America was nuked and destroyed, how would it be remembered?

How would it be described in future history books?

History is recorded by the winners.
As a rule.
So whoever did the destruction would probably have their version recorded as the ultimate thing it's remembered for.

As a nation of dreamers, A nation of many minds, many thoughts and many dreams for the future. A proud nation, with a proud people, always ready to stand up for what they believed, I think the history books would be kind to them if they were truly blown up. America is more than its nastiest or worse citizen.
Hmm I see people in the future digging up humans and looking at our bodies thinking wtf why were so many Americans mutants and think that we did lots of weird body experiments hahaha
An experiment in democracy. The spoiled children grew up and became progressives.....thus allowing themselves to be nuked into history.
Apparently it's only a problem if another country is nuked.
We've had nuclear weapons for about 71 years now. Has anyone else besides us used them to nuke another country ?
