First impression of grocery shopping - trip # 1

I volunteered (insisted) on doing the family shopping because no one here seems to be taking the necessary precautions to the degree that is necessary.

Here is what I found: It's truly an indictment on human nature at how people are still greedily over-buying for no sane reason. I don't know whether to be the most disappointed in people in general or grocery stores for not upping their stocking orders to keep up with demand.

And, the things that are most out-of-stock seems random. Shelf depletion is for:

- Ice-cream (90% depletion)
- Frozen vegetables (100% depletion)
- Dark chocolate (95% depletion)
- Paper products (100% depletion)
- Cleaning supplies (99% depletion)
- Hand sanitizer (100% depletion)
- Milk (80% depletion)
- Cereal (70% depletion)
- Dry grains (90% depletion)
- Flour (80% depletion)1

There is plenty of soap though. And, they have put plastic shields up surrounding the cashiers (like a "sneeze-guard").

Soap does take longer to run out than any of those things....
