When customer service disappears

I have noticed the lack of customer service in big chain shops these days. No wonder they will disappear in the online shopping world. However we'll still need customer service more than ever. But because it's easier to make everything impersonal, online shopping can be a great way for dealers to avoid good customer service, especially if you have a problem with your purchase. Has anyone ever experienced the same, especially as it comes to electronics?

I would just once like to speak to a customer service person who is NOT in Bombay. Most have such poor English that I eventually yell at them because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND MY ISSUE!So frustrating! Happens esp with Amazon...all the time

@Fernie they seem to have a script and if anything is not within the script, they don't have a clue. But even on face to face, customer service is poor. Even when they speak your language. I had a problem with a laptop screen that was in the warranty. The manager did his best to get away with not helping us. First thing he said was that there was water damage without even looking at the laptop first. I had to call the head office to correct his awful approach.
