How far will Baby-trump be allowed to go in attempting to destroy the world for his own pleasure?

It all depends on the mid-terms in my opinion. There is no limit as to what his party will condone

@monte3 Except are they condoning or are they fully on-board? Over 60% who claim to be Republicans claim they they trump did an excellent job with Putin.

Exactly! It really doesn’t matter. They are emotionally commited. Imagine the fury from the right if Obama had same performance with Putin?

@monte3 That's the part that is so difficult to understand. Obama was heavily criticized for doing what was termed an "apology tour." Baby-trump literally throws himself at trump and gives up his dignity doing so, claims he's making the world the safest its ever been, and his fans scream for more.

I had the oddest (and last) conversation with tne Trumpies katelass e in particular, after theNorth Korea summit. Making the point that Fox would have gone nuts if Obama did that deal.

@monte3 Agreed. It's come "down" to watching a soccer match, choosing a side, and then defending that side no matter what the issue is, no matter what "your" side does, and no matter what the outcome. It seems like it's insecurity gone wild.

@MarkPaul ithink it co es down to emotional identification. In tournament poker there is the concept of being “pot commited” you have so many chips in that you have to go on even if you suspect you are behind. The extreme Trumpies are emotionally committed, they have invested too much to admit or even consider another point of view

@monte3 Interesting insight and analogy. I suppose there could be a danger of anyone on any side falling into that extreme trap. It just seems that there is currently enough, though a declining number, of Baby-trump fans who are enjoying upsetting the apple cart and they don't seem to care how detrimental he is to them personally.

“They don’ seem to care how detrimental he is to them personally”. That IS the fascinating point. Part of it is that he tapping into patriotism, however cynically, part of it is ideology is identity, part of it is providing a villain to blame. Be it immigrants or liberltards.

@monte3 Is there a solution to this problem?
monte3 · 70-79, M
I spend a lot of time wondering how the Democratic Party has so alienated these people. And by these people I mean Walmart shopping pay check to paycheck people. They feel like victims, andFox pushes the idea, and they feel ignored and their values not respected.
I don’t have a solution
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@monte3 I keep thinking that is the solution. We need some way to offer these people who obviously feel pushed aside into "the tent," Ronald Reagan style. Not focusing on Reagan's policies, but his "tent opening" words, smile, and approach worked once. It can work again for the Democrats.

We need a Regan 😊. My Father is Turing over in his grave right now, but it is true. A problem is that the Democrats are stuck with some stuff like extreme environmentalists that make that hard
