Have you ever refused a gift?

My crush gave me a monetary gift for my birthday. I told him that he did not have to give me anything, but he said he wanted to. Would I be wrong to sneakily give the money back to him, like slip it in his pocket or something?

I admire that you don't want this gift. Soooo many wouldn't even consider turning down a gift... especially a monitary gift. Secondly, I'd never even consider taking a gift of any sort from someone who had a crush on me... especially if I could not ever see myself returning their affections.
