I’m a Brit! Yes, our government has made a stupid decision in using tax payer money to refurbish Big Ben. But in hindsight, it’s a historical monument that does actually need to preserved...I just wish they’d postponed it for at least another decade or two! Don’t worry folks, we have plenty of ways to tell the time: every bus and train station, wrist watches, phones and not to forget public electronic message board with free wifi. 😂

Can't say I ever used the Big Ben for the time, I have my own clock.

We can can always call the speaking clock.

It's easy, hold your finger in the air and wherever the sun casts a shadow on an imaginary clock face that is the time. It's a bit rough but with a little practice you can get it accurate to a quarter of an hour.

they'll phone us and ask what time is it over there and then calculate the time difference and add a few minutes for the working out time used
