Google, when I was looking for what happened to Experience Project.

stumbled on it randomly whilst looking for anonymous chat sites

I was getting depressed and isolated.Tried to go back to ep. Was sad all my stuff got deleted and I couldn't retrieve it. Read that similarworlds was the new website. So I've been here since 3 months after EP went down

I found out about it when Experience Project died. It seemed to be the closest equivalent.

Short answer is I was dealing with a load of life stuff and this place came up on a search. Stayed around after.
