As the child of Foreign Service Diplomats and 35+ years in the Military, I have lived and served in a lot of different places and Countries. I love Google street view to see what places I've lived in look like now, including the schools I went to and places I've frequented. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is how quickly some things change and yet others don't look much different than they did 50+ years ago, though I do wonder what happened to some of the people I've met and lost touch with too from long before the Internet existed...

@spjennifer You must have a lot to look back on. Your Google Street View sessions must be very engrossing.

@JamieYahoo Yes, I have an 85" TV now and am able to Chromecast from computer to TV screen, places like Paris, Montreal, Kandahar, Baghdad, Munich, Guam, Turkey, S. Korea and so many others, it's easy to lose a couple of hours just cruising around seeing old haunts and some places I'd love to go visit again. It's one of the things that kept me sane during the lockdowns here!

Yes. I still think of my old city in Tennessee, the places I worked at there.

I used to live in NJ. I googled it a few years back, saw a few changes. I had paranormal experiences in the house, no one else in my family did. I wonder if the people who live there now have seen anything odd or have had same experiences. BOO!

Oh yes. All the old haunts from back home to just the routes I drove through various stages of my kids’ lives. Like retracing the shadow of a line long faded. Bittersweet for me.
All the time. Especially now, as I’m getting ready to leave the area I’ve lived for a solid half of my life.

@nebulouslyyours My best wishes for the move. My life has been a tale of three cities so far. I think I am glad about that.
@JamieYahoo Thank you! My family moved a lot when I was young, though I only remember a few of those places well. Having been planted here so long in comparison makes me nervous, but I think it’ll be good for me. Very stressful in the interim though lol

Yes. They can be just as much a factor in who you are as the people you lived among. It can be stressful when these places are vulnerable to destructive change.

No, I still walk around the same places and just think of people I used to meet here but most of them left.. Only I'm still here.
i counted up and i have lived in 17 different places, and then thought........ damn, i hate moving. LOL

Sure - it's called reminiscing.
I have photo albums to review every now and then.
