I still try to make peace on the thought that I should have saved my dad.

@mindstruggle oh sorry 😕

Adrift · 61-69, F
@mindstruggle I can second that.

Should have listened, learned and talked to my dad.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
I don't have regrets.

Not investing at an early age.
Not pursuing my dreams.

That I didn’t just focus on myself after high school, instead I revolved my life around him.

I was gonna quit school when I was 16 in 1966 and hitchhike to California and play in a rock&roll band. I wish I had.
Ontheroad · M
I've learned to reframe those regrets into lessons learned... it works, most of the time.
TexChik · F
@Ontheroad Regrets suck! They last a lifetime. But using them as life lessons is a good idea.
Ontheroad · M
@TexChik I've always been good with regrets. I tell myself (sometimes out loud) "Well, that was a dumba$$$ move/decision - let's not do that again", then mark it up as a lesson learned. Yes, it's a mind game, but it works😁
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M

Staying too long
It's a waste of time to have regrets...learn from it and move on otherwise moving on will be impossible
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
I shouldn't have stopped antidepressants cold turkey. Might not be disabled today if I hadn't.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
@thepeculiarpanda What happened?
thepeculiarpanda · 36-40, M
@PinkMoon I stopped Celexa cold turkey and my body attacked my brain, lungs, and kidneys a month afterwards. Still dealing with the autoimmune disorder 16 years later.
greensnacks · 31-35, F
It's not that I can change it even if I go back. But if I realized earlier whatever is being done to me, I would've out of that sooner.
Musicman · 61-69, M
In the fall of 2007 just before the economy crashed I was offered a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner for $10k. It was restored and had a 426 HEMI under the hood. To this day I regret not buying it.
Bleak · 36-40, F

I regret how often my anger spoke before I did.
