I consider those two different subjects.
For me astral projection involves a belief.
I used lucid dreaming in the 80s to rid myself of a nightmare.

Back in the late-1990s I was going through a bad time and a doctor put me on Xanax. I did a lot of lucid dreaming. I would go to this magical city that was a lot like India only everything was fresh and clean and perfect. I could fly. Nothing important happened but I was happy. I'm never happy.

@hunkalove There are books on the subject. I have read that taking a teaspoon of nutmeg mixed in honey or milk or water at bedtime helps. And as you are falling asleep tell yourself over and over tonight you are going to lucid dream. Mine stopped when I stopped taking the xanax. I recently had a glimpse of one. I was aware I was dreaming but all i could see was where I was, I was asleep, my eyes closed, but I could look around my room. It only lasted a few seconds.

I don't beleive in astral projection.
As for lucid dreaming, I have had many such dreams in the past but the dreams most end in seconds right after I realize that I'm in a dream or jumping off a building or after getting punched in the face in your lucid dream.
