I Happen To Be A Lucid Dreamer

Nightmare To Dream... Lucid dreaming is when you are aware that you are dreaming without waking up as a result. When in this state you can actively control - and even change - your dream. Most people have a lucid dream at some point in their life; however, you can force yourself to have a lucid dream with enough patience and practice.

When I was 14 I started suffering from recurring nightmares. Sleeping tablets didn't help, and one can only stay awake for so long... So I started reading up on dreams. That is when I discovered how to force myself into a lucid dream. It took long to reach that point, but it was crucial. Once I got the hang of it, I changed the nightmares into something better, something happier. After which the recurring nightmares disappeared completely. What was once a nightmare, became a beautiful dream.

I believe lucid dreaming can get rid of any and all nightmares and recurring dreams. It is an option at least. I don't interfere with my dreams, unless truly necessary... But some people do it for fun. Whichever you prefer, lucid dreaming provides the means to escape.

Wow, I use to recurring nightmares too! I was around 6 or 7. And lucid dreaming occurred too, though I never learned control them. Instead, end up getting sleep paralysis. I get them less now that I'm an adult. I had one last night acutally.

Sorry to hear that. If it returns, try to change it.

How do you lucid dream? The closest I have ever gotten was when I was counting my toes (don't ask) and realized something wasn't right. I kept counting them and ended up with 8 or 6 toes on one foot. I eventually woke up.
