What is truly worth my time?

Time is arguably the most valuable thing there is because you only get so much of it and you can never get it back. I used to think a good life lied in the getting the things I desired, whatever they were. So I used up all my time chasing after them.

Looking back on that it’s a bit silly to think that way. The idea that I should spend my whole life looking forward to something so that I never fully appreciate where I currently am. I’d never be happy living that way, would I? I achieve and then what? I’m left with more to achieve. It won’t ever be enough because we’ll always have more that needs to be done. That’s just the way it is.

I’ve realized the only thing worthy of my time is the fulfillment of whatever challenges me. That’s what I desire now because those who pursue easy won’t ever get to the bottom of that rainbow.

Funny thing about time is it’s like a currency you’re forced to spend. Maybe something isn’t worth the time, but you often have limited option where to spend time that’s going to pass regardless.

@Straylight This is true. Only those with money enjoy the luxury of options, but all the options in the world won’t mean anything if you don’t make the most of them. Conversely, even but one option can be the best of all if you’ve made the most of it.
