@wildbill83 China has no territorial sovereignty and related sovereign rights to resource extraction and fishing in the Arctic.China views Greenland through the prism of its own food security (fish and seafood imports) and demand for raw materials (minerals, including uranium). Currently, however, China's mining portfolio on the island is modest It mainly consists of shares in projects of companies from other countries, primarily Australia.

@NudasPriest the Greenlanders want independence. it makes about as much sense for them to be part of Denmark as the US. the Danes are saying he was too hard on them and not diplomatic enough.
