Growing up, my parents always taught me to say "thank you" and "you're welcome" to people. Why doesn't the younger generation seem to do that anymore

I don't think it's a generational thing, there are plenty of people of all ages who are not polite or considerate of others. I was taught good manners, but I find the rudest people tend to concentrated in the older generation which taught me them 🤷‍♀
