summers at my Grandparents house on the beach. playing checkers with Grandpa ( he wasn't very good, I always won), peanut butter and jelly sandwiches after school, sitting with Grandpa and Dad watching the Jets on Sunday

@saragoodtimes that sounds really nice

Reading comic books. I was a huge Superman fan, and also read just about anything they were selling at the grocery store in far western Nebraska.

Playing the drums. I got my first drum kit when I was 12 and fell in love. There wasn't a day went by that I wasn't playing them. It's been 15 years since I've played. Life just kind of got in the way. I still have that first set packed away in storage
twiigss · M
@slorollin oh that's really cool. I wanted to get into drums but ultimately it didn't pan out, dad wasn't going to spend a ton of money on a drum set.
I convinced Mom and she got me an electric guitar when I turned 18. I took guitar class in high school but I've since just stopped playing.

Watching cartoons straight after school. He-Man, Defenders of the Earth, Count Duckula. I loved it
twiigss · M
@StyleCat yes!! He-man and the old Voltron cartoons for sure. I would watch Looney-tunes, inspector gadget, heathcliff, Garfield and Friends, Tale Spin, DuckTales, and then in high school I'd come home and watch, you can't do that on television on Nickelodeon, hey dude, Ren and Stimpy, Double Dare. Fun times, but those are long gone 🙁

Riding my bike all day with the rest if the kids in my neighbourhood
@Jeephikelove We were definitely in better shape back then. I couldn't ride my bike like that today. ☹️

Video games. Started when I was 5 or 6. Had the game boy, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, GameCube, ps2, original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one, Xbox series x, and now finally I have a fully custom built pc with a dual monitor setup I can run any games I want on there.
twiigss · M
@HannibalMontanimal that's awesome. We had Atari 2600, on a camping trip we met this other kid who had a Gameboy so that was my first ever time I saw it, my second console was Super Nintendo, but I think we had the computer before that.
HannibalMontanimal · 26-30, M
@twiigss I had a computer too in high school. It was an HP desktop. I did a lot of gaming on there too. That’s basically all I did
twiigss · M
@HannibalMontanimal i can't remember when, but in one of my schools we had the Apple iie and we would go there. They would teach us about the open apple key and the closed apple key, but that's all I really remember other than playing Oregon trail.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Definitely playing computer games like Warcraft, Prehistorik, Commander Keen, Rage of Mages...
Playing badminton, snorkeling, drawing, cycling, catching butterflies...

@CrazyMusicLover yes!! We played commander keen for hours actually. Warcraft 3 was pretty good. And we had a bike trail by where we lived so we would ride that off and on.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
Taking the bike with my weekly cash pot and go buying Pokémon cards in the local gas station hoping to get the sparkling one. Oh, and buying Jenka chewing gums of course.
twiigss · M
@Queendragonfly was this an American product?
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@twiigss I don't know where it's from originally, we have it in Sweden.
twiigss · M
@Queendragonfly Ahhhh that's why. The Jenka brand is made in Sweden, I'm in America, we have Bubblicious Bubble yum brand amongst others.

Playing my Atari 2600, NES, and Super Nintendo. And my friend's Sega Genesis.
twiigss · M
@SW-User Oh really??! That's awesome!!! We had the 2600, we had to go to friends places to play the NES, then at some point I got a super Nintendo.
The SNES has been sitting in my closet so I gave it to a close relative as a graduation gift and then my friend gave me a Sega Genesis which I never played so I got that hooked up and got a few games for it.

@twiigss I use the computer emulators and ROMs for those old games now.
twiigss · M
@SW-User oh same, but I have these actual consoles, Atari 2600 and 5200, NES, Sega Genesis, PS2, PS3, PS4, and the commodore 64 Maxi. It's the C64 keyboard with like 4 USB inputs and HDMI output. I never had the commodore so figured I would get it.
