Growing up

One moment I’m laying in a canopy bed surrounded by unicorn and rainbow wallpaper, wondering what middle school was going to be like, to then suddenly laying in bed with a man who snores and tugs all the blankets, wondering if ill be able to pay rent and buy new clothes this month…*looks out into the darkness of the bedroom beyond my cellphone light* *sigh* …Doesn’t seem like life is gonna be slowing down either. Smh. I gotta figure out something good. Something that really makes me feel like myself and yet is also satisfactory… ah but yes, gratitude. I am grateful for this opportunity of figuring “it all out”. Namaste.
Then you blink and your 63 wondering where the last 30 year went

When you think about rent or new clothes, redirect your mind to something that makes you happy. And if your mind goes back to rent or new clothes, redirect it again.

The reason you were happy as a kid is because you always thought of things that made you happy. You can do that as an adult, too.
I’m afraid life and time only moves faster as you get older. Try to find the pockets of moments to enjoy and evaluate (as you have done) to take stock of where you are and where you want to be.
🙏
