I keep thinking of that (obviously invented) WW1 story where a general goes up to the front and is talking to the soldiers when suddenly zip! a bullet snaps past him.
"Look out, men, there's a sniper on that church tower."
"Yes sir" one of the men replies, "been there for 4 days now."
"Four days? You need to take him out immediately! Why haven't you already?"
"Yes sir, but begging your pardon he's not hit anyone yet and his replacement might be a better shot."

Everyone’s priorities are different.
Mine would be:
Getting the economy working. Reducing benefits, so people see work are a priority.
Encouraging entrepreneurship.
Abandoning Employer National Insurance.
Much more spending on defence, to deal with the constant threat of Putin or his successor.
Developing a strategy for the fit young men who come in as illegal migrants. Making them work, join the army, or sending them back immediately.
Investing more in nuclear power and abandoning all Miliband’s schemes.
Nationalising Water.
And to pay for this , direct taxation, which hits the high and middle earners more. Tempered by raising tax thresholds, and reducing VAT.
With the exception of tinkering with defence, I see none of this happening.
