Possibly -- hard to say, it all depends on who your believe in regard to the attacks on him, what your own beliefs are, and how much the passage of time lets history forget the social media frenzy that has surrounded him.
Like many before him, as long as those that remember outweigh the number who've never known about him or his work, his work will sit to be rediscovered by another generation
It's that simple - and true - yep. It's the work product that lives on. Who looks at Gig Young, Paul Kelly or Albert Salmi in a movie and remembers them as murderers?
For at least another gen, maybe? Others have been forgiven for their misdeeds: Mitchum, Chaplin, Flynn and now (in a different profession) Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe Jackson.
@rinkydinkydoink I agree that time has a way of covering/minimising these events. I try hard to separate the individual actions of artists from their art, BUT when those who have apparently suffered are still disturbed by the fame they see, I have a struggle.
