Does this sound a bit disturbing?

My mom was watching the news and there was a story of a man who killed his wife ...they got jail time but not life sentence.
she says,
"I think of this. (Issue/subject ) If I ever killed YOU, I'd not get away with it."
I thought, Wow. I'm not thinking of if I killed someone, blah blah. That just has not ever gone through my mind. It really left me feeling very wary.
(Side note, she's been a horrible, volatile, violent presence in my life , always. Literally psychotic. But to HEAR THAT....)

So much more than a bit disturbing! I only have one thing to say about that. Why do you hang around her??? I guess you live with her?Why don't you get away from her and stay away from her? That's just sick what she said. Don't kid yourself. She knows exactly what she said and her mind is sick. We've talked about this before. Get away from her, please. I don't ever ever say that to anyone and I never have, but you need to get away from her. Please. No wonder you have PTSD so bad. She takes advantage of that. You have got to get away from her. Don't believe it. Narcissists are 100% aware!!!!! I've been with them I have studied them inside and out. They know exactly what they're doing and they even plan their shenanigans! This is no way for you to live. Why don't you get out and get away forever?

I don't know your mom but I know pain and that most people speaking those words would only say it in a rhetorical sense, not understanding how their past actions could carry their words further than their narrow mind could see.

It does. But of course narcs have nearly zero self-awareness, not that it absolves them of anything.

My narc ex used to unironically quote the movie Fatal Attraction ("I won't be ignored!") and it was frightening. She was joking, except her behavior matched the film 100%.

@uncalled4 I am sorry to have to say this to you because I love you friend but you're 100% wrong on that. Narcissists know 100%, what they're doing and they even plan it. They are very cruel and abusive. I've known them and dealt with them and I know the pain they can inflict on purpose. I know them inside and out cuz I had to deal with a PTSD.

That is messed up. I wonder what she meant by it. I know the situation is absurd but did you ask why? What all was going through her head?

Somebody ever killed a loved one of mine they better pray they get life in prison it'll be a lot longer than if they get out
