How do you deal with triggers, that remind you of the past?

Say you suffer from PTSD. And there are so many triggers that remind you of a traumatic event, such as continued gossip, or new abusive speech, how do you get through those triggers and not relive the whole thing?

Scientifically speaking, you'll never actually forget what happened it's impossible, but over time you'll learn to over come it and make peace between it... it's impossible to forget, but it's possible to work through it to make it easier

Stand for what you say and ALLOW those that speak around you to continue. Think of it as a filter for those that want to know more
