I was interrogated, roughed up, and my motives were questioned... at the bank

I had to go to the bank to handle something that couldn't be done online. I was pretty sure what I needed to do and mostly confident. When I walked in, the receptionist insistently stopped me and asked me how he could help. He wanted to know the details, my account number, and if I had an appointment. Reluctantly, I answered him, but his questions seemed out of line, and I started to feel uncomfortable. I wasn't expecting so many questions... and not from the receptionist.

He typed some things into his computer and gave me a look like I was wasting his time. He demanded that I take a seat and told me someone would be right with me. Yeah, he smiled, but it seemed like it was forced. I walked towards the seating area where he directed me, but as he turned away, I kept walking out the other door.

Good way to not get anything done. Especially since you can't do it online. 😆

Now imagine absolutely being dependent on every time having to do things in person.

I grew up in that world. And so did most of all humanity throughout all of history.

@DeWayfarer Well they should or risk losing my business.

@MarkPaul Good luck. They are closing brick and mortar banks left and right. That's all of the Banks.

The switch to online AI is happening. Just very slowly.

There's not a single brick and mortar branch of my bank in the whole state.
The service is god awful. Yet they don't charge anything.

That's the only reason why I'm still with them. They don't charge or have minimums.

@DeWayfarer Well, that should be the model not the exception. Everything should be accomplished online. I resent I was forced to go into the bank in the first place and my apprehensions turned out to be proper.
