People who have visited the US

Did you guys get sick whenever you guys ate our food? And did you break out with acne? I’m doing a study.

I didn't get sick, but I would have if I ate even half the portions.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
@NerdyPotato I hear that a lot 🤣 and I didn’t even realize how big the portions was until I started eating healthier and realizing that even a medium is too big at once.

My wife did go to Texas, that's where you are right?, and she was appalled by the portion sizes.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@sstronaut Well this was one or two restaurants , but yes my wife said they are insanely huge.

No, all visitors who visit the USA are shot and killed because our over abundance of violence and guns (or so I keep hearing from people I assume that have never been to the USA).

I have heard our enriched floor process is different and might be different from the world and giving us too much enrichment, and that's why pasta dishes in the USA vs outside the USA might feel different after eating a lot.

@sstronaut I believe the US has fewer food laws in general. But don't quote me on that.
@JimboSaturn I've heard of people trying to sell meat to Mexican and couldn't because of laws, then to another foreign country and couldn't and then sold it in the US because they could...

Yes the US seems to be behind on quality food laws or standards, or should I say the food company lobbyist have earned (paid) their way into the legislators pockets and we're behind a lot of other modern places in banning potentially harmful things...

As in America, we have to prove it 100% it does something negative to get something banned, while most other places they just have to prove that it probably does something negative.

We find everything fattier and sweeter; more unhealthy. It's not that much better in Canada though. We bought Pilsbury crescent rolls and they made my daughter sick. Other than that I just find things different.
Weird thing is too, or not, after he moved here hubs almost went through a detox of the sugars and chemicals out of his body. He smells different now to then

When I went to Vermont the food was amazing and good!
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@TurtlePink Lol. Yes I loved Vermont. The food was amazing, the people were really nice. We went in the early 2000's It was the first time I saw sweet potato french fries. We did eat a lot there but felt great.

@JimboSaturn I wanna go over there so bad and visit Rhode Island and New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I feel like they live so differently from the rest of the US.
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
@TurtlePink Me too, it's really nice there. It's more like Canada to me lol. I like all things New England too. I love looking at LL Bean catalogues; they hit every button in my head.

I got indigestion from trying to eat up everything on my plate.

I didn't get sick, but I felt a lot better eating real food again when I left the us
I got sick, each time. But also ate out more than I normally would.
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
@V00doo i’ve never heard of that, but that does sound good 😩😩 also out of all the states why did you want to go to Oklahoma? Lol
@TurtlePink Hubs was working/living there at the time. Never been anywhere so flat!

It was crispy pasta with italian sausage, green peppers, olives, pepperoni....
@V00doo yeah, so you're used to lots of hills and curves in all the right places?

Nothing is flatter than the US plains, not even the ocean (as it has waves 🌊)
bikelover · 56-60, M
Nope , loved every minute 😊
GeorgeTBH · 31-35, M
No i ate more then i probably should have but never got sick
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
@GeorgeTBH yes lots of people tell me they ate a lot lol. Was the food good though did you feel yourself craving it more after eating it? I heard our food has that effects especially with processed foods like potato chips. It’s all bad. I don’t know why anybody would wanna feed that stuff to their kids.
GeorgeTBH · 31-35, M
@TurtlePink it was good i did crave it
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
In other countries, do you guys eat a whole subway foot-long in one setting?
