I told the scammers to please stop calling me and to take my number off their list

Well done. I had a call from one who told me that she understood that I had had a car accident which was not my fault. Without hesitation I replied, 'Oh no, it was entirely my fault.' There was a long pause before she said, 'I'll take you off our list.'

I have had no such accident, my fault or otherwise.

I've tried that too. I got fewer calls for a few weeks and then it went back to almost daily again.

I still remember the onslaught of
"we detected error messages here at Microsoft from your computer, I'll be happy to help you fix that"

I lied told the guy I was running Linux, he hung up

One should not answer nor have any communication with scammers.

If you do, regardless of what is said, they then know they have a legit contact.

I have no voice mail setup and my call setting only to allow contacts I have saved to ring. The rest go through the Google screening services and don't disturb me ever.

I don't have the patience for that shit
