How do you love someone unconditionally?

They say remove the toxic people in your life...but is it worth it if it leaves you alone?

Nobody is perfect. What happens if you avoid people like plague because of how much they hurt you? They say people change. Well they don't if they don't want to, and it's up to you to harden your heart so their behavior would hurt you no more. But what if they're your responsibility? What if you give and give and yet they don't bother to thank you or to help?

What happens if the person hurting you the most, the one who doesn't want to change for you is family?

How do you find the balance?

For myself, I can say that I love many people...even some of the toxic people who have hurt me in the past. But I learned over time that it's important to love yourself, also. If you do not mother yourself, and care for yourself tenderly, you will suffer.

I decided to care for myself in that way, and distance myself from those who were toxic, and who hurt me badly.

The incredible relief you feel when you remove yourself from those people makes you want to float away. It feels so good when the pain finally stops.

It's not good to avoid people like the plague...and you needn't do that. Just take your time getting to know people until you are sure they are not more of the same. You don't need to get close until you are sure.
Family will always be family, but when it starts affecting me emotionally and mentally, I have to draw the line and keep some distance.
Otherwise I am not as good as I can be for the the people I care about

I think it's about not expecting anything in return.

If you want to take it other way, do it without being emotionally attached.

@Casheyane Definitely, it's always easier to say than to do it in reality, but it is not even impossible to do. I know this by doing, not by reading.

@ABCDEF7 Did it make you happy? Doing it i mean

@Casheyane Everyone has their own definition of happiness. For me, I more happy and satisfied this way.
