I heard we might have to cancel Christmas again in the UK because brexit is causing a shortage of our traditional foods

would you cancel Cristmas if you couldn't have the usual dinner?

I am fine with some fancy cheese and ham toasties 🤷‍♀️😂

Please say Brussel sprouts will be in short supply because I can't stand them or understand their appeal 😁
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@carolinehugz My daughter really loves them so I have learned to cook them in the most edible way I can. They get steamed lightly and tossed in butter with bacon and chestnuts 😋

@KuroNeko yum 😋
carolinehugz · 51-55, F
@KuroNeko now if Christmas dinner was purely pigs in blankets (sausage wrapped in bacon) I know this household would be happy☺️
I made pasta and chicken last year for the family when my mother was sick. It was much more important that we could be together, especially with the pandemic.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Absolutely. It's about family, not specific food!
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Since I never got to eat much of what I cooked, its no big deal to me. That's what I get for working every Christmas I guess.
Budwick · 70-79, M
You could always celebrate the birth of Jesus!
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@Fluffybull Beautiful! The turning of the year 💚

@KuroNeko

"@Budwick I really don't know what you are trying to get at here."

I very much doubt that he knows himself🤣
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@room101 argument for the sake of argument I guess 🤷‍♀️
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
I’m not panicking as I’ve got a Christmas Pudding in the cupboard already 😂😂
I'd just have something else instead.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@NerdyPotato you just would, wouldn't you?
SW-User
Same I’d be happy with anything to be honest 🥪🌯🌮🧆
JustNik · 51-55, F
Unless you’re just someone who doesn’t do Christmas, there is no reason it ever needs to be canceled. I would do Christmas if I was stranded alone on a desert island. 😄👍
room101 · 56-60, M
Can't think of anything, in a British traditional Christmas Dinner, that isn't produced in the UK🤷‍♂️
Quetzalcoatlus · 46-50, M
The first Christmas was held in a dirty manger with filthy animals and rags for clothes. I'm sure you can find the spirit to make due with what you have...
Riverman2 · 61-69, M
Wasn't it Scroog that after all his efforts to destroy it said, "Christmas just came anyway"?
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@Riverman2 It happened under lockdown so it'll happen this year.
Pasunny · 26-30, F
I don’t know what’s worse Brexit or Joe Biden
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@Pasunny don't make this about you lol

@MarmeeMarch There are a lot of different types of curry out there, maybe just try another place?

No need to cancel Christmas! Personally I vote to cancel tax day. :)
Wait you dont get xmas? :(
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@TryingtoLava I'm still having mine. It's not a certain type of food that makes it christmas for me.
@KuroNeko ;) i agree!
BigBulge · 46-50, M
Haven't you ever seen, "The Grinch That Stole Christmas ?" You can't stop Christmas from coming.
SterlingApe · 41-45, M
Will Jesus stay 29, again, then?
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@SterlingApe I guess so
not acceptable, they must do something about that, christmas is a traditional time in our family and many families still.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@greenknight Maybe we can just eat other things? 🤔
Khenpal1 · M
no cheese for you 😁
JoeyFoxx · 56-60, M
It’s not only Brexit. Worldwide supply chains are pretty fucked up. Afghanistan provides quite a bit of dried fruit to India. This is drying up and there will be significant ripple effects.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@JoeyFoxx Of course it all has an effect, but one of the biggest is the fact we cannot get things delivered to the shops at the moment due to driver shortages.
Pasunny · 26-30, F
Fuck no make something else
MethDozer · M
My grandmother told me stories of having glazed bologna instead of ham and turkey for holiday dinner as a child because there was a depression going on. That's family and that's Christmas God damn it. Make your lemonade and enjoy your family.
KuroNeko · 41-45, F
@MethDozer In Japan they have strawberry cake and KFC lol
MethDozer · M
@KuroNeko Heretics and heathens
MethDozer · M
@KuroNeko In Jewish homes they have Chinese food for Christmas
