@Keepitsimple Amen.
What makes people think that the guy preaching to them has any history himself of being this wonderful religious person without any seminary training and lives in a 10000 sq ft home that cost 3 million !!!
WTF people.....

@Midlifemale those churches pop up everywhere and the big ones always have some scandal. I don’t bother anymore. I think I gave $341 to the Catholic Church last year. That’s not even enough to pay them all to perform one mass.
People can ignore me for all kinda reasons
If they ignore me because I have faith ... it is not my loss

@questionWeaver exactly
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
Yeah the atheists have to be the worst. They just can not let it go. Their religion must triumph or they have to abandon it.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@yeronlyman You have no idea what religion is. Thanks for making my point though.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@yeronlyman Religion is any belief held near and dear. You don't speak English as a primary language do you?
BlueSkyKing · M
If faith is valid, then anything goes. Muslims believe in Allah by faith, so they must be right. The Hindus are right. The Greeks and Romans were right. More people claim to have seen or been healed by Elvis Presley than ever claimed to have seen the resurrected Jesus. With faith, everybody is right. Suppose an atheist, refusing to look at any religious claims, were to say, “You must have faith that there is no God. If you believe in your heart that nothing transcends nature and that humanity is the highest judge of morality, then you will know that atheism is true. That will make you a better person.” Wouldn’t the Christians snicker?

@BlueSkyKing it does go, Ceasars can not say it must be
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@BlueSkyKing Everyone's life is based on faith. You have faith in what you believe so.....
Freeranger · M
Perhaps the better question is to ask whether or not others find a problem with forms of extremism. I could sound off about any number of types so.....
pattycakechamp · 26-30, F
Too extreme in ANYTHING can make people distance themselves.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
@pattycakechamp Exactly.

Something is an understatement in that scenario.
With extremism and obsession comes hate and fear. They wouldn’t accept anything that’s different to what they are obsessed or are extreme about. Of course it will frighten people.
If you see a bunch of naked old people running around hailing their invisible sky warrior, wouldn’t you get petrified?

My mother mainly mentioned hell and fearing God 😂 This wasnt a great selling point. I stay away from people who threaten me.

SW-User
@Ruya7 as a Christian i agree with you i would never force my religion on my kids.
Ruya7 · 41-45, F
@riseofthemachine yes it was always "pray or you go to hell" and also "love God only" Like okay? 😅 I cant love people who threaten me 24/7

Yes. It is a greatly flawed thing, all 4,000+ of them.
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
I'm not religious myself but I have nothing against others believing what they like as long as they don't use it as an excuse to dictate to people. They are the ones who have something wrong with them. Why can't they just live and let live?
checkoutanytime · 41-45, M
To each their own, I feel strongly, also feel knowing what a collection of many books compact into 1 has a great message, that goes unhearded & abused by either asile.

Ynotisay · M
Sure. Those people are cult members.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
Excessive religion will make one crazy.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
I think there is something wrong or offputting when atheists are obsessed with trying to convince people that god isn’t real or that religion is foolish.
Otherwise I don’t see a problem with someone’s personal beliefs as long as it isn’t harming anyone else

I find the woke religion are the worst. They won’t critique their own ideas because they ‘aren’t religious’ so whatever they think in the moment is ‘based in reason and logic’, until it becomes convenient to profess to believe the complete opposite the next day, which again is based on ‘reason and logic’, and rather than ever self reflect on their own shortcomings, they will instead distract themselves by attacking religion, which always turns into attacking Christianity.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
Lots of religious beliefs would be psycho diagnostic under another heading

SW-User
Both things no but if you shove it down people's throats and threat them with hell because they don't agree it becomes a problem.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@SW-User I'm listening to that stuff now for the past few years . I cant take mo more it being honest .
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
That is known as an extremist, and they are crazy as hell. I'm a Christian myself and those kinds of people scare me.
ImperialAerosolKidFromEP · 51-55, M
I think it does turn people off to it. Even when it's an atheist who is obsessed with it, he still gets a win because the vitriol may not endear anyone to atheism, but it also just sours people to the whole issue of religion.
Zonuss · 46-50, M
It's unproductive.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@Zonuss it gets no where
