Any investment is essentially a gamble. There may be a sound, logical reason to trust that the investment will prosper, but the reality is that the future is simply too unpredictable. The people who get a lot of return for their investment like to think it's because they're smarter, yet don't realize (or would refuse to admit) they just got lucky...

I bought some stock in a company named Amazon in the late 90’s

Well hang in there, the big upturn is just around the bend! Meanwhile, try some pot stocks..

@GerOttman My money has been lost with these shares.
The Board "Diversified" away from it's core business and this is the result.
I wrote to The Chairperson - Jennifer Helen Hill-Ling and told her that the whole board is a waste of space and certainly do not deserve their exorbitant salaries. I suggested she resign, without bonuses.
Never got a reply🤔

I'm assuming you have not been accumulating massive dividends. About the only suggestion I would dare make is hope you need a tax break one day where you can write off the loss in a sale.,😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Stopped getting dividends about 2016.

@Gusman I gave up ownership of individual corporates over a decade ago. Even the best ETFs are a roll of the dice right now.😷

Gusman · 61-69, M
