True indeed; not caring to trust humans does save energy, and no, you won't be disappointed when they may happen to betray you. Fair enough.
But you can live your entire life like that. And that decision is certainly up to each individual if they do, but I'm just saying.
It's like not wanting to ever get into a relationship because you fear it will end badly.
Heck; if you want to take it to extremes, it's the same as never having kids because unfortunately, it's possible they may pass before you, and you don't want to deal with that heartache.
Yes...some people are bad. Bad to the core. But I still believe 98% of the people are good.
If I had not trusted that 98%, I wouldn't have the cherished friendships, and memories that go with them, that I do today.
Now, obviously, you have to use some common sense and trust more as the other individual warrants it, but to me, you have to trust to get the big prize at the end.
To some though, that prize may not be worth it.
In relationships, you have to put your heart out there. It's just part of the deal. And sometimes your heart will get crushed. As a matter of fact, it has happened to most people. But you can't truly appreciate a wonderful relationship unless you endured the pitfalls of a failed one.
I'm rambling, so I'm sorry...but you get my point; you have to gamble...sensibly...life is a gamble...what college should I go to?...should I quit this job?...should I go out with him/her?...should I get divorced?...should I buy this house/car?...but when that gamble pays off, it's worth it.
